Fabulous Peacock Floral Tablescape at the Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Spring Gala

Project Overview

LGC Interiors combined creativity and philanthropic purpose in "A Peacock Named Monique," a show-stopping tablescape for the prestigious Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Spring Gala on May 2, 2024 at Cipriani 42nd Street. We transformed the event’s "Flights of Fancy" theme into a breathtaking dining experience that exemplified our signature "sophisticated whimsy" design philosophy while supporting one of Manhattan's most vital community organizations.

The Design Vision

The tablescape design required striking a balance between theatrical impact and sophisticated elegance. The "Flights of Fancy" theme captured imagination and created connection among gala attendees while honoring the 130-year legacy of this historic settlement house, founded in 1894 to serve Manhattan's East Side and Roosevelt Island residents in need.

The centerpiece of this tablescape was an extraordinary 6-foot peacock named Monique, who truly became the belle of the ball. This stunning creation featured a hand-beaded royal blue gown showcasing meticulous craftsmanship, while her hand-carved wooden beak added sculptural elegance. Her magnificent tail of woven orchids and beads, which took several weeks to hand-weave, created a living work of art that captivated every guest who approached the table.

The table design provided the perfect backdrop for Monique's theatrical presence through carefully curated, understated elegance. A woven tablecloth in spun gold and blue created rich texture while complementing the peacock's royal blue gown. Gold plates added luxurious warmth, while ruby-red glassware provided a striking color contrast that enhanced the overall sophisticated palette.

Collaborative Excellence

Working in partnership with Angel Salazar Designs for the floral elements, we ensured that every aspect of the tablescape worked in harmony. This collaboration resulted in a seamless integration of interior design principles with expert floral artistry, creating a cohesive vision that elevated the entire dining experience. Together, we set out to create something truly larger than life—a spectacular, 6-foot-tall, sequin-beaded, orchid-dressed showstopping peacock that delivered an unforgettable wow factor.
